Attractions

Hammershus Borgruin is the remains of a medieval castle, which is believed to have been founded around 1225. The castle has been used as a state prison, and has, among other things, known prisoners such as Leonora Christina and Corfitz Ulfeldt. In 1743 Hammershus ceased to exist as a fortress, and was subsequently used as a quarry. However, Hammershus is preserved in 1822 and every effort has been made to restore the ruins as much as possible.

Hammerhavn's boat cruise offers a boat trip along the cliffs, past the lion's head, camels and into a 70 meter deep rock cave. Every day from 10:00 am in the period 1 May to 30 September. Adults cost 60 kroner and children cost 30 kroner. It sails when the weather permits. Departure from Hammer Harbor.

North of the harbor is the old granite quarry. It is open to the public. Here you can really enjoy Bornholm's rocky landscape.

There is a good sandy beach and jetty at the harbor.
