Margretheholm harbor is located at Kongedybet on the north coast of Amager, and it is approximately 3 kilometers to the center of Copenhagen. The harbor is located in a former industrial area that has housed several large yards. In addition, the port has the Amager shipyard as a neighbor.

The harbor has free internet in the area of the clubhouse. There are limited opportunities for provisioning, but good bus connections away from the harbor until Copenhagen. Bus # 37 runs straight out of the harbor.

Lynetten sailing club has a home port in Margretheholm harbor.

The area at the harbor is known to be a good place to fish, which many Copenhageners make use of.

The sanctuary of Christiania is located within walking distance of the harbor. The district has about 100 inhabitants. The area was occupied in 1971 and has since been ruled as a collectivist joint government. Areas such as the Pusherstreet and the Gray Hall and Flea are well-known areas.
