Avernakø harbor is located on the northwest tip of Avernakø. The harbor is close to the ferry port, where the ferry Faaborg III departs to Lyø and Fåborg. The port was built in 1994, so it is a relatively new port. Avernakoe originally consisted of two islands. The two islands were joined in 1937 by a long dam. About 100 people live on Avernakø. The port was given new bath and toilet facilities in 2012. There is free wireless internet throughout the harbor. Bicycle rental is available at the ferry shed right next to the harbor, so you can get around the island.
There is a grocery store on the island where you can order and order breakfast bread for delivery at the port the next morning. During the summer season there is a small café by the harbor.

Gitte sells fresh and smoked meat, sausages and cold cuts, goat skins, fur works, mohair yarn and knitwear, horn jewelery and brushes, as well as a selection of crafts with a touch of goat.
