Approaches
The ball port can be accessed around the clock. Guest sailors can use all bridges in the harbor. The mole heads are illuminated with a red and a green mole beacon. Be wary of commercial traffic through the Samsø Belt and the Great Belt. During the day, the harbor's white silo is seen from a long distance. Bottom nets and other fishing tackle may be found in the area. Be aware of the new ferry port half a mile south of the harbor. There is a speed limit of 3 knots in the harbor basin.

Ballen Havn is located on the east side of Samsø. The harbor is Samsø's most visited port, and there is always life in and around the harbor. Especially the days when there is Samsø Festival, there are life and happy days at Ballen Havn. The ball also has several good eateries. Both north and south of the harbor there are good bathing opportunities. Washer and dryer can be found in the bath section. The sailing room is open every day from 8 am to 4 pm.

It is possible to make provisions in Dagli'Brugsen, which is located on the harbor and is open all days of the week from 7.30-21.00 during the summer holidays of the schools, otherwise 8.00-19.00.

Attractions

Tranebjerg, Samsø's largest city, is about 5 kilometers from Ballen harbor. In Tranebjerg there is a wide selection of shops. You can also find Samsø Museum in Tranebjerg.

South of Ballen Harbor is an old lime-burning stove.
