Details
In the middle of the South Funen archipelago lies Drejø with its approximately 70 inhabitants.
Drejø gl. harbor on the north side of the island is a cultural-historical gem. It is almost a natural harbor, and it was built before 1880, when the harbor was expanded. The small port has had the call of both freight and passenger boats in the old days. In 1884, some of the island's residents established their own steamship company and set up a route between Drejø, Fåborg, Svendborg and Skovballe on Tåsinge. As needed, the ship also called Breekhave on Tåsinge. In 1905, the passenger steamer moved to the newly constructed ship bridge on the southeast side of the island.
