Melsted havn
A cozy little privately owned harbor on the sunny lake Bornholm. The harbor is well protected between Sorteskær and Guleskær. The harbor was built in 1884 of granite boulders, and can accommodate about 50 small boats and dinghies. The summer season is usually crowded here and it can be difficult to get a seat. Petrol and diesel can be purchased at a gas station in Gudhjem - approx. 1 Km
Both north and south of the harbor there are hedges. South of the harbor there is a really nice bathing beach with the finest sandy beach.
Melsted is a small cozy fishing village with small well-maintained half-timbered houses and narrow, crooked streets. 4 of the houses still have smoke smoke chimneys that smoked herring in the old days.
About 300 meters from the harbor you will find the agricultural museum "Melstedgård", which is an old Bornholm farm, and definitely worth a visit. The farmhouse dates from 1796.
It is also possible to go to Østerlar Round Church if you have the courage to take a little longer walk (4 km). Østerlars is Bornholm's largest round church, and you can see exciting frescoes from the 1300s.
