Øster Hurup harbor can be called at around the clock. However, if there is a strong wind from the east, the harbor cannot be called at. The harbor mole arms are illuminated with a red and green pier light. The entrance is marked with a red and a green candlestick. The course to the port is 270 °. A sandbank runs across the inlet to the harbor, causing the depth to fluctuate between 1.8 and 2.8 meters. It happens that the sandbank is marked by laid buoys. There is a speed limit of 3 knots in the harbor basin.

Øster Hurup Harbor is located on Jutland's east coast between Mariager Fjord and the Limfjord. Øster Hurup is a popular holiday destination, and the city is buzzing with life in the summer.

There is free internet connection in the port from 1 May until 1 October. There are several barbecue areas and cozy nooks around the harbor area. It is approximately 0.5 km to the city center from the harbor, and here you will find shops, cafés, ATMs and restaurants.

Øster Hurup Boat Club has its home port in Øster Hurup Harbor.

Attractions

Øster Hurup is known for its delicious sandy beaches. A walk along the beach is always nice and if you are lucky you can find amber. Many people think that you can only find amber on the west coast of Jutland, but if you look in the right places, it can easily be possible to find amber at Øster Hurup.
