St. Knud's church is Odense's cathedral. The church is considered to be Denmark's most impressive Gothic edifice. Sct. Knud's church was built in the 1300s, and the church is named after the Danish king Knud the Holy, who was bloody murdered in Odense in 1086. The skeleton of the Knud the Holy can be seen in the church's crypt together with the kings Hans and Christian II, who are also buried in the church.
Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense, and it is possible to visit the museum of Hans Christian Andersen . The museum offers a thorough insight into the person, the author and the poet HC Andersen and his life. The museum also has many of his paper clips and drawings.
