Hvalpsund Marina can be used around the clock in bright and visible weather. In coal, S- and N-going currents can put 2-3 knots across the port inlet. There is a speed limit of 3 knots in the harbor basin.

Details

Hvalpsund Marina is a modern marina located in the Limfjord on a narrow stretch between Hvalpsund and Sundsøre. From Hvalpsund there are about 8 nautical miles to Virksund, about 10 nautical miles to Skive, about 10 nautical miles to Fur and about 13 nautical miles to the beautiful, protected island: Livø.

Service building The molecular gym has facilities such as bath, toilet, and a newly renovated kitchen in 2016 with seating for 18 people. Just south of the harbor there is a child-friendly beach with tables and benches.

A 5-10 min walk from the harbor is Dagli´Brugsen with a bakeoff and diesel / bezin stand, which is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm. Restaurant Marina is located at the marina, Hvalpsund Færgekro at the Ferry Port is one of Denmark's oldest inns.

The sailing club's nautilus ' clubhouse can be used freely by all sailors. You get a code when you pay for port hire. From the entire port, you can access the Internet via the wireless network, which is also a free service. At the clubhouse there is a crab race track, fishing nets and buckets that can be used freely. The clubhouse has a weather station which can also be accessed at http://hvalpsundvejr.dk/vejr/. Bus line 100 (North Jutland's traffic company) runs from early morning to late evening on the Hvalpsund-Aalborg route. Here it is possible to get to Farsø (about 15 km) where there are good shopping / shopping opportunities.

Attractions

The area offers exciting nature trails with magnificent scenery and views of the Limfjord. The paths are marked. It is also possible to experience seals in the area outside Sundsøre.

In Hessel you will find Denmark's only thatched manor house. Hessel Manor is run as an agricultural museum, and there are exciting activities from May to October.
